Ted Weiss
Ted Weiss has practiced commercial and business litigation
in Houston and other parts of the United States for over
thirty-nine years. His work has included numerous trials
before juries and judges in both federal and state
courts. He has also handled many arbitrations and mediations
for a variety of different clients, both corporations and
individuals.
Ted received an undergraduate degree in the Woodrow Wilson
School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton
University and a law degree from the University of Texas
with honors as a member of the Texas Law Review. He
practiced at Baker Botts in Houston as an associate for
seven years and as a partner for over thirteen years. He was
also a partner in a twenty-five lawyer litigation boutique
during the mid-1990’s. For the remainder of his career, he
has worked independently in association with other lawyers
as necessary.
Ted has practiced in the following fields of law—breach of
contract, fraud, stockholders derivative suits, breaches of
fiduciary duty, securities fraud, and antitrust among
others. He has handled cases for corporate clients in
industries as varied as oil and gas, real estate, health
care, securities, chemicals, steel, and dairy products. In
applying this broad range of experience, he seeks to serve
the needs of his clients in achieving their goals as
effectively as possible.
Farley Grissett
In over twenty-three years of law practice, Farley
Grissett has handled and participated in a wide variety of
civil litigation matters. He began his legal career at Baker
Botts, where he spent six years focusing most heavily on
complex securities and other business litigation. He worked
on trials and appeals in both federal and state courts, and
also participated in arbitration proceedings. Thereafter, he
practiced in small litigation boutiques for six years, which
included a variety of business and contract disputes.
Farley’s educational background includes an undergraduate
degree magna cum laude from Rice University and a law degree
from Columbia University as a Thomas G. Shearman Scholar. In
the past thirteen years, building on his experience in large
and small law firms, he has conducted his own varied
litigation practice in complex securities and other business
litigation, handling trials in state and federal courts as
well as arbitration proceedings
Beth Maxwell
Beth has eight years of litigation experience in private
practice along with three years experience as a briefing
attorney with a state court appellate judge. In her private
practice, she worked for four years with a litigation
boutique, concentrating on commercial litigation and
professional malpractice cases. She has handled the entire
range of pretrial responsibilities, including preparing
summary judgments and other complex motions, drafting
written discovery requests and responses, taking and
defending depositions, and managing large document
productions.
Beth received her B.S. from the University of Houston and
her J.D. from South Texas College of Law where she was
Managing Editor of the South Texas Law Review. She has
recently started her own independent practice
